Deep within the heart of your being, there is a voice. A voice that orchestrates everything you do. Depending on your state of consciousness, the immediacy of this voice will amplify to a level that it is indistinguishable from your own.
If you listen to this voice, you’ll feel lighter.
If you ignore the voice, you will feel heavy.
How magical is it that there is a version of you, trying to give birth to itself, through you? An evolutionary impulse that is always inviting you, as well as every living being, to become more of itself.
This is the voice of your Soul.
In the same way an acorn contains the coding within it to become a tree, your Soul holds the blueprint for your unique essence. That individuated voice in the choir of the collective, which only you can sing.
When tuned and shared, it has the ability to bring deeper meaning and purpose not just to your life, but to the greater symphony of existence.
The great adventure of our lifetime then becomes developing the ability to amplify this voice amidst the noise of modernity.
To turn up the volume of the call from a whisper to an all abiding presence.
Quick note: I am currently taking 33 fellow truth-seekers on a Soul Accelerator. This is a 3 month course that enables them to heed the call of this inner compass. This article is one of the teachings we will be doing a deep dive into at the end of the month.
In this piece, we will discover is the Soul Codex - a concept representing the four elements that shape your soul and uses the metaphor of the tree to bring it to life.
Let’s jump in!
The Souls Codex
ROOTS: Core Tenets
I spent a bit of time looking in to the mechanisms behind happiness a long time ago. After some casual research I discovered an answer to the eternal question:
What makes people happy?
The answers left me pretty underwhelmed, but the consistent thread in responses I found were:
Positive self-esteem.
Which then lead me to enquire further:
What creates positive self-esteem?
A quick google search bought me to this answer:
“TALK TO YOURSELF POSITIVELY”
It seemed almost laughably simplistic.
Honestly, only in such a synthetic culture would such a synthetic response be the best our health agencies have to offer. It is a tragic but fitting indictment on where we are as a species when it comes to the mainstream medical awareness on some topics.
I know I bag on our outdated systems, tired governments and de-humanising colonial structures quite a fair bit but honestly, at this stage it seems irresponsible for me not to.
So, allow me to give you my thoughts on what creates positive self-esteem, which then brings you happiness:
LIVING LIFE THROUGH YOUR VALUES.
If you want to feel better; start by understanding your values, or what I call core tenets and aspirational tenets. Then commit to them as best you can.
My core tenets are: Truth, Love, Boldness and Play.
Some of my aspirational tenets are: Excellence, Embodiment, Discipline and more.
My core tenets are the truth of who I am at the core of my being. These values I don’t have to think about too much, they are just how my soul expresses itself.
My aspirational tenets build the bridge to what I call the Central Self. We will explore this in more detail below, but these are the values I aim to embody more fully to support me on my journey of evolution.
When I’m in two minds about something, I just outsource my decision making process to my roots and let them anchor me to my deeper truth.
Naturally, as I mature, my sense of self and my values will also evolve. Therefore, they’ll need regular updating.
TRUNK: The Central Self
In the soul of your soul is the Central Self. That version of you that holds your highest potential and is deeply connected to the currents of the universe.
I’ve always felt allergic to the New Age concept of the Higher Self. The foundations of what I share are about establishing balance to cultivate wholeness.
Seeing parts of yourself or society as lesser than or "low vibration", and misappropriating spiritual teachings to justify emotional suppression and ignorance, is a disservice to true growth and understanding.
At it’s core, the Central Self holds the highest degrees of compassion, kindness, truth and love and carries the keys to your calling in this lifetime.
You are always either encircling your central self and, through your habits, building bridges towards it or barriers away from it.
The Empire has created the perfect system to separate you from your Central Self throughout every step of your life. Inherently, Empire cannot cultivate humanness, as humanity does not scale.
So much so, it can sometimes be hard for us to even believe that the Central Self is there. But if you are ever in doubt, just remember that for 99.9% of history, our ancestors lived with an intimate understanding of this knowledge.
At this stage, you may be wondering: “How do I connect with my Central Self?”
Hold that thought for now, as I want to zoom out a little. The Soul has had many, many names across many, many cultures.
The Maoris call it Wairua, Hindus refer to it as Atman and the ancient Greeks referred to the Central Self as the Daemon.
Socrates; the Greek philosopher who was one of the founding fathers of Western philosophy and ethics, lived his life by making decisions based ONLY on what his Daemon told him NOT to do.
His personal story was met with a tragic fate when he was told to leave his village as he was found guilty of treason.
The charge? Corrupting the youth.
His legacy, the Socratic method, is still highly respected to this day.
However, this rigorous method of inquiry, aimed at exposing ignorance and encouraging self-examination, was perceived as undermining the credibility of those in positions of power and influence.
When it became time to leave, he refused to do so, as his Daemon told him not to. The voice of his Central Self instructed him to accept the death sentence, and he did so to stay true to his principles and stand up for what he believed in.
His fate echoes through countless generations, and his story is still shared thousands of years later to this very day. Perhaps at some level, his Daemon knew that this courageous act would inspire generations to come.
When the Church became more established throughout Europe, they engaged in infocide by eradicating any mention of the Daemon, suppressing any alternative spiritual practices and beliefs. The DAEMON was transformed into the DEMON, as the church sought to vilify any notion of personal sovereignty.
This manipulation encouraged people to outsource their personal guidance and inner wisdom to religious authorities, reinforcing their control over people and land.
BRANCHES (Mythopoetic Identity)
This is likely the relationship that will take the longest time to cultivate. There are many obstacles to surmount, including societal conditioning, fear of vulnerability, and past traumas.
Overcoming these barriers demands patience, self-compassion, and a tenacity to confront discomfort. Your mythopoetic identity is the song you are here to sing, the dance you are here to dance, the story you were born to share.
A lot of people confuse this purpose with a job title or vocation. Your soul did not arrive here so you could be a DJ or an accountant or a professional line stander. The imaginal realm from which it was birthed does not speak ENGLISH.
These forces speak in the language of nature and the dreamtime, and the best way we can describe that is mythopoetically. It’s not a job. It’s not a star sign. It’s simply the artistic representation for who you are at this psycho-spiritual stage of your development.
Myers-Briggs, enneagrams, and astrology all try to comprehend these archetypal forces, albeit with varying degrees of success. In the same way you have organs in your body, archetypes are the organs of the collective consciousness, serving specific functions in the psyche.
Each archetype represents a fundamental aspect of human experience and behaviour, influencing how you perceive and interact with the world. Just as organs work together to sustain the body, archetypes interact within the collective consciousness to balance the individual and the collective.
When you awaken from the dis-membering spells of cultural conditioning and re-member the fragments of your being, it becomes much easier to connect with your mythic calling.
This remembrance is a return to your essence, a reclamation of your power, and a realignment with your soul's purpose. Your purpose is the fruit that the branches bear, intrinsically linked to your being.
Discovering your mythopoetic identity involves exploring the symbols, images, and stories that resonate with your soul. It's about recognising the archetypes that shape your life and understanding how they influence your thoughts, emotions, and actions.
In addition to earnest exploration, there is a pressing need to clear any emotional debris that builds as a result of living in systems that do a marvellous job obscuring the whispers of your soul.
As I mentioned above, the persecution of this philosophy goes back thousands of years. The programming is bone deep.
So take solace in the fact that you are joining an interconnected web of countless others who have come before you and also fought to reclaim their power.
In the 4 Ways, I explored the core driver of each domain of knowing. The psyche is driven by a need to express, the spirit is driven by a need to grow, the soma is driven by a need to connect and the soul is driven by a need to heal.
Consider this:
We are born in to a birthing system where we are slapped in to the reality of the 3D world - with lighting that can only be described as GHASTLY, inside a sanitised brick box void of any celebration and love
For the next 15 years, we are indoctrinated into a schooling system developed in the industrial era, which conditions us to be subservient robots rather than nurturing our humanity. (I explored this in one of my first ever newsletters “The Hidden Curriculum”)
The cultural script then throws us out in to the “real world” of jobby jobs - which is really a dying planet screaming for salvation, jacked up on dopamine and cortisol in a haze of anxiety and confusion as a result of the misalignment between our true selves and the expectations of society.
This my friends, is insanity.
ENVIRONMENT (Natural habitat)
So the question still lingers. “How DO I connect with my Central Self?”
The more appropriate question would be, how do we unlearn from this synthetic dominator culture?
By spending intentional time in nature.
The journey of soul cultivation is inherently a healing one. It’s a deeply experiential unfolding. A felt experience.
Sure, you can learn some tools and techniques that speed up the process, but ultimately, the most important thing you can do is clear the rubble of harmful conditioning, addictions, and habits that have buried your soul.
So with that, the fourth aspect of the Soul's Codex explores your natural environment.
What kind of tree are you?
Are you a water tree, most at ease by the swelling tides of the ocean?
Do you thrive in the embrace of the forest?
Or perhaps you find solace in the sturdy, silent presence of the mountains?
Each of us has a natural habitat that resonates with our soul, a place where we feel most connected to the deeper rhythms of existence. Find yours, and let it be your sanctuary.
Your refuge where you can recharge and reconnect with the essence of who you are.
Embrace it. Honour it, and let Mother Nature nourish your spirit.
In this sacred space, you will find fertile ground for your soul.
Thanks for reading fam! If you are on the course, our next teaching will be on June 30th where you will build your Souls Codex through some simple tools and practices I’ve developed.
There will be some exercises sent out on the 23rd to help you prepare.
Don’t forget to leave a comment with what really landed for you.
Such a fascinating inner journey, to sit with these inner voices - the highest self, the playful child, the critic, the dreamer and learn what they want to teach me. Thanks for shining a light on them - and what influences them to use the language they choose. Powerful stuff x
This piece paints an accurate picture of what the Soul is made of, how the systems currently in place suppress it and how to reconnect to It to reconnect to your Divine knowing and purpose. What I found the most fascinating is the concept of Archetypes as organs of the Soul and collective imagination, as seen in Myths and other shared stories.
